Recently I was asked by Apartmentguide to suggest ways for renters to incorporate texture and pattern into their apartments. It’s important to recognize that even if you don’t own your home, there are clever ways to make it homey and communicate your aesthetic. As the article says, “Incorporating texture and patterns into your apartment home’s style is a powerful way to elevate its visual appeal and create a more inviting atmosphere.” I couldn’t agree more!
For my part, I suggested incorporating crochet wall art, like the pieces found in my Leisure Arts book, “Wall Hangings.” Ideas from other experts including bringing in florals and greenery, layering rugs, displaying African art, and incorporating sculpture into your space.
